More than a backdrop
Trees regrow, wildlife responds to its surroundings and villagers carry out their daily work. This is what already exists in the internal build.
Four seasons and local weather (rain, storms, snow, fog, sandstorms) change crops, light and walking speed.
Villagers hold professions and follow daily jobs. Settlements keep stock, trade and grow.
What you build, plant and fell is saved with the world; wildlife follows the forest and trees regrow.
Explore. Gather. Shape.
Walk through forests and deserts, gather resources, grow food and build somewhere to call your own. These are the first five of nine systems.

The same seed and generator always produce the same world. Only your changes are saved. Worlds reach up to 16,384 × 16,384 tiles.

Walls, doors, floors and furniture. Closed rooms get a roof that fades when you step inside.

Hoe, farmland, seeds and growth stages. Crops stop growing in winter and grow faster in spring and rain.

Foxes hunt rabbits, herds leave cleared forests, some animals can be tamed and bred.

Settlements consume goods hourly, price them by scarcity, and caravans carry surplus along roads.
The world
From ocean and coast through forests and deserts to glaciers and ash wastes. Each biome has its own plants, animals and resources.

A world in progress
An internal development build already includes world generation, crafting, building, farming, village routines, weather, seasons, caves and a server for several players. Deeper ecosystems, more peoples and public servers remain goals, not released features.
From the journal
Honest insights instead of artificial hype. Only articles that really exist appear here.

The game formerly developed as Averra is now called Sunfallow – A Living World. What changed, what stayed, and how old saves find their way over.

Why the same seed always gives the same world, what a save file really stores, and how old worlds stay safe when the generator improves.

A 0.9 version number sounds like “nearly done”. It is not. Here is what the number stands for, what was tested and what no one has done yet.
The road ahead
No dates and no percentage bars. Each entry carries its status.
Real captures
All images are captures of version 0.9.1. Nothing here is concept art.

Sunfallow is far from finished. But it is growing, one system at a time. Follow along in the journal or with the RSS feed.
